Italy’s National Electronic Register for Waste Traceability (RENTRI) has introduced the digitisation of load/unload registers and waste-transport forms in successive phases. The last registration window set by Ministerial Decree 59/2023 closed on 13 February 2026. A complex obligation, full of bureaucratic pitfalls.
The waste form goes digital
The FIR transport form can be issued on paper, as an alternative to digital, only until 15 September 2026. From that date penalties on data transmission to RENTRI also apply.

Penalties up to €30,000 for a register that isn’t up to date or is incorrect, or for a declaration not submitted (Art. 258, Italian Legislative Decree 152/2006). EasyWaste substantially reduces the risk of non-compliance.
